IIM - Indore Interview

I had applied for the IIM-Indore's EPGP by the last week of May-2013. I was called for the interview on 20-JUNE-2013.

The Interview location in Bangalore was at the MONARCH LUXUR hotel at the center of the city.

I reached the Hotel by 8:50am and the interview was scheduled to start at 9am.

By the time the interview started, i saw that there were 7 folks waiting & of them 6 were men and there was a lone woman for the Morning batch.

I was the 3rd Person to be called for the Interview.

The Questions that were asked to me were as below( i might have missed 1-2 questions), but i believe that the Interview was probably  not holding any pattern. though i could see that there were questions based on your engineering degree and there were no questions asked about the current work. I have answered to my best abilities but i think i still have scope to improve up on for the next applications i have in line.

1. Tell me about yourself
2. What are the things you would check before planting.
3. Organic or Chemical fertilizers. Which one is good and supporting Organic ...is it just a emotion.
4. Expansion of GPS
5. How does GPS work
6. Asked about how GPS satellite work.
7. What is a Satellite Phone and how does it work.
8. What are the two important improvements in Telecom Industry in the past 2 years.
9. Expansion of SEBI
10. Asked about Malala.
11.Life is a Learning experience. How?
12. Why IIM-Indore.
13. How did you find about EPGP at IIM-Indore.
14. Similarity between Dr. N R Narayana Murthy, Azim Premji and Rama Linga Raju.

At the end they asked me whether i have any questions for them.

I asked the below questions.
a. Is IIM-Indore going to participate in Financial Times ranking any time?
b. The Vision statement said they wanted to become the top 5 Business School in India and i asked about their thoughts on Ranking.

Thats all. I hope i have done my best and i wish that i would be selected.

I am leaving it to God and proceed on to the next steps i have to do.

June-2013 - PMP

June 2013 was a roller coaster month for me.

Had a function at home.

Had to take 10 day mandatory leave at our company. Though illogicial,  it was a compliance thing and hence had to take it.

Was planning to take the PMP exam since Jan-2013 and took the 10-day mandatory leave opportunity and used it to achieve my goal. By God's grace and with some hard work i am now a PMP.

Have to concentrate on looking for work opportunities to apply the knowledge now i have gained and also to work on earning the PDU's.

GMAT 3rd attempt and aftermath

I took GMAT on 31-OCT-2012 and scored 660. Though i am not content with the score, but for now i have decided to move to the other facets of Admission preparation.

I had applied for IIMB and had the Interview on 18-11-2012 and got DINGED. I felt that the interview had gone well, but i did not receive any reasons for failing in it.

I had tried to reach to the admission team to learn about the reasons for failure, but i am not successful in it yet. I would try to get that information before the next blog.

I had applied for IIM-Lucknow and had just finished the interview on 4-12-2012. I felt it was a stressful interview, but i dont think so that i would clear it. Hence i have moved on with it and waiting to hear officially.

I had applied for ISB in its 2nd round. I hope i would receive a call from there.

Meanwhile, i am attending PMP Workshop by sabcons this month and hope to be PMP certified by Jan'13 month end. I hope i would acheive that soon. Meanwhile i also have to apply for Emory by 15-JAN-2013 and Johnson by 30-JAN-2013. I should get the calls for interview and i hope i would clear them.

My dream was and stilll is to study from our IIMs.
