Here are 9 questions I ask the leaders I work with. If even one of them makes you nod, you're in the right place:
- Do you find yourself constantly translating high-level goals into team actions, but still wondering if you're getting it right?
- Is 'thinking more strategically' always on your to-do list, but something you never actually find time for?
- Are you familiar with the dread of sitting in a meeting where strategy is being discussed and not knowing when (or if) to speak up?
- Have you found contributing to strategy somewhat ambiguous, high-stakes, and hard to do confidently?
- Do you spend time 'preparing to lead strategy' by collecting frameworks, reading books, or rewatching recordings - instead of actually applying anything?
- Are you held back by the fear of saying something wrong in front of senior leaders, while at the same time frustrated that you're not being seen as strategic?
- Do you struggle to get your team focused on what really matters, starting out with clear intentions but ending up back in firefighting mode?
- Are you familiar with the feeling of finally creating a plan only to see it drift because no one's aligned or clear on how to act?
- Do you find yourself overthinking every decision labelled 'strategic,' unsure what it really means or how to move forward?
